Today, I was chatting online with one of my friends from college and she mentioned something to me that validated why I do what I do. She said, “I was teaching a class at Mt. Carmel and we were naming filipino/as that contributed to hip hop… one of the students mentioned you. We were playing a trivia game and the question was “Did filipinos contribute to hip hop?” The follow up question was to name some of them… and a female student just shouted your name.”
I was honestly shook when she told me this. I thought it was very flattering. It just validated for ME that all my hard work, sleepless nights, money loss, and the overall struggle is really worth my while. I am truly touched that my passion has impacted a community. Thank you for the support!

Check out these 2 commercials… The first one is of a filipina singing in a coke commerical that appeared to be focused on the Philippine market. In the second one, is it me or was she all of a sudden hispanic… she’s wearing the same clothes… The coke commercial was for a hispanic market… the immediate positioner say “inspiration latina”… I’m trying to understand the connection.

Most of us know at least 1 person who is registered on an online dating service. Some people turn to it as an outlet to meet new people and see what’s out there, or for damage control after a divorce or break up, or just to try it. For some there seems to be a negative stigma about people being on one, whether its the thought of desperation, embarrassment or laziness, some might approach it by saying “What the hell are you doing on an online dating service?”
What we would like to discuss 3 questions about online dating services:
1. Why Do People Join Them?
2. What Are There Negative Stigmas About Being On One?
3. Do They Work?
We put match.com to the test by registering DJ Marlino “da5footafunk” to it’s online dating service. Please check back here for status updates. But, in the mean time please leave us your thoughts on this issue.

On Wednesday, Diana and I took a trip up to LA to meet with the Jeepney Music camp to talk about future projects and collaborations with Heavy Rotation. After our meeting was over, there was no way in hell we were going to head back to San Diego, especially with LA traffic… sooooooooo, we decided to take advantage of a rare opportunity of free time and just be tourists!
The adventure started at the Glendale Galleria. Diana got to see one of her favorite urban clothing stores. She shopped while I looked at all the graphic tees trying to become inspired. After some time at Glendale we headed to one of my favorite hip hop clothing shops, The Hundreds.

Again Diana got to splurge, while I got to watch… hahahaha. Next, we headed down to 90210 to find the joint that has everybody ”cupcakin….” Sprinkles!!

Of course we were excited… Di ended up getting 2 Red Velvets and I think 2 Black and Whites. As for me, I didn’t really know what Sprinkles was all about soo i just ended up getting 1 Vanila Milk, 1 Strawberry, 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter, and 1 Black and White. I was actually supposed to give 2 of them to my cousin.. but I ended up eating all four!!! Dayum..

So after the sugar rush, we headed down Rodeo to go to Melrose to check out the folks at Crooks & Castles….

BUTTTTT IT WAS CLOSED!!!!
So we decided to head over to the Beverly Center to go find some celebrities and be groupies. Since no celebs were in site we ended up spending the rest of the night at H&M. Sales! Sales! Sales! Di stocked up, and I just picked up a $10 buck sweater.

And that pretty much sums up our little tourist adventure in LA. We were fortunate to actually have some time to just hang out and not worry about deadlines or work. Hahah the best part was that I didn’t even know how the hell to get out of LA! By 8pm we finally figured it out, with some help of course, and made our way back down to San Diego.

“Those who hear not the music, think the dancer’s mad.”
This topic will always be open for discussion,

Finish the phrase “MUSIC IS MY…”
